Worldwide Correspondents Program

Hub City of Asian Culture (HCAC) Project, administered by the national government of Korea, is the single largest cultural project in the history of the nation. The Project aims to forge cultural ties and establish a forum of exchange with not only countries of Asia but also all around the world, and to enhance the overall quality of life of Koreans by transforming the Metropolitan City of Gwangju, one of the six largest cities of Korea, into a culture city of novel concepts.

The Project aspires to see the creation of a forum where all nations can share and exchange the precious cultural assets of the continent. Asian Culture Complex (ACC), an integral part of the Project to be completed by 2012, is expected to serve as a stage upon which creative energies of Asians in the sphere of arts and culture can lead to a source of new creativity and mutual inspiration. Through such exchanges, we hope to preserve the traditional cultures of Asia and, at the same time, play an important role in the creation and distribution of a wide variety of cultures.

To this end, HCAC has developed a Worldwide Correspondents Program. The Program will focus on gathering data and information on culture cities, community arts activities, and arts and cultural organizations around the world in a timely manner, and consolidating cooperation and exchange with pertinent organizations outside of Korea. We look forward to your interest and active participation (please visit our website (17cct.pa.go.kr) for more information on HCAC and ACC).
