Hub City of Asian Culture, Gwangju 2009 Worldwide Correspondents\' Program for The Asian Culture Complex
Hub City of Asian Culture, Gwangju Project, administered by the national government of Korea , is the single largest cultural project in the history of the nation. The Project aims to forge cultural ties and establish a forum of exchange with not only the various countries of Asia but also all around the world, and enhance the overall quality of life. The Asian Culture Complex , an integral part of the Project to be completed by 2012, is expected to serve as a stage upon which creative energies of Asians in the sphere of arts and culture can lead to a source of new creativity and mutual inspiration. Through such exchanges, we hope to preserve the traditional cultures of Asia and, at the same time, play an important role in the creation, distribution, and commercialization of a wide variety of cultures. Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Republic of Korea, the Office for Hub City of Asian Culture developed the ‘Worldwide Correspondents\' Program for the operation in 35 countries around the world to utilize local experts and correspondents in order to build strong networks with Arts and Cultural Organizations and Institutions.
□ Program Objectives
• To utilize local experts and correspondents in order to build strong networks with Arts and Cultural Organizations and Institutions • To foster deeper understanding on Arts and Cultural Organizations and Institutions and raise issues of common interest by acquiring greater knowledge of the different operational and managing strategies aimed to promote the arts and culture as well as of the modeling process of the Asian Culture Complex
□ Operating States and Term • Term : Feb, 2009 ~ July, 2009 (approx. 6 months) * Contract may be renewed depending on performance • A total of 35 countries will be selected depending on the status of applications from the list below and a network of correspondents will be established for these areas.

□ Job Description
• Writing reports on the projects and policy trends on concerned arts and cultural organizations or institutions, and providing information on international arts and culture events held there - Language : English or Korean Option 1) Minimum of 3 times within the 6 months term (Obligation)
Format : More than 2 page-long article on A4 size paper Or 3~5 Minutes Video Clip Option 2) 3 times per month within the 6 months term (Obligation) Format : Half page-long article on A4 size paper • Contributing articles or video clips for HCAC Archive, HCAC blog board and Newsletter • Playing a Local-Coordinator role if there are requests by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Republic of Korea
□ Qualifications and Selection Criteria • Candidate must currently be working in the arts and culture industry of the country in question, or must have graduated with a relevant academic specialization or must be pursuing a master\'s degree or higher in the field • Candidate must be fluent in Korean or English ※ Local residents will be given preference in the selection process.
□ Remuneration for Correspondents • Certificate and ID card of Correspondent issued by the Minister of Culture, Sports & Tourism • Remuneration of USD 50~200 per article - Remuneration will vary from $50 to $200 based on the evaluation of the article.
