There are various angles from which it has been working. Just as the conservative camp has been criticizing it, 798 itself has been organizing activities, carrying on public discussion, digesting problems, and reflecting on the present process. Therefore, it is by spontaneous, on-process means that it operates. And some patterns of its operation should be learned. For example, in protecting old-fashioned industrial architecture, it seeks dialogue with decision-makers of city development planning, as well as with economic powers, trying to dissolve pressure among different fields and mind models. With an open attitude and an initiative to draw more audience, it has reached its own goal , in the meantime, it helps accelerate urban civilization process accommodating contemporary culture that it has been expecting all the time. Red History being Reflected North China Wireless Electronic Material Integrated Factory coded as 718 broke earth in 1954. Later on seven factories including 798, 706, 707, 718, 797, etc. were recombined into Seven Star Group, which is also called 798 Art Area locating at No. 2-4 of Jiu Xian-qiao Road, Chao Yang District of Beijing. 798 Integrated Factory is the 157th assistance project offered to China by international socialist camp at the time. And this honorable construction task was assigned to former Democratic Germany. Mobilizing experts, utilizing technology, facilities and production line, together with Chinese people, they completed this grand project which captured the attention of the whole country. Viewing from a certain angle, the residue of the innocent dream of Chinese socialist industrial construction is still reflected in 798 Art Area,. In the process of building this Art Area, there is no calculated efforts to dismantle the system or slogans of the old political time, neither is there disdain for the inefficient yet operable production line. On the contrary, old factory and new construction coexist peacefully and harmoniously. Those vastly different formations often produce mighty resonance and contradictions, the significance of which is worth our attention.
